Dr José Palacios-Jaraquemada

Obstetrics, MD PhD (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

He is an associate surgeon in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University Hospital affiliated with the Centre for Medical Education and Clinical Research (CEMIC) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a researcher and consultant specialising in abnormal placental invasion, postpartum haemorrhage, and uterine repair. Additionally, he serves as a full professor of the first Chair of Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Buenos Aires, and as an associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Airlangga University in Indonesia.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Buenos Aires and a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London, UK. He is also a consultant in placental magnetic resonance imaging, a member of the Scientific Foundation of the South in Lomas de Zamora, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and an honorary member of the Italian Society of Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasound (SIEOG). Additionally, he is a member of the Argentine Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Buenos Aires (SOGIBA) and the New European Surgical Academy (NESA), among others. He has actively participated in over 150 international congresses and authored more than 100 publications in national and international journals. Furthermore, he is the author and co-author of ten books and has won nine national and international awards.
